Rev. Sonya Sukalski, Minister

August 2014 marked the beginning of Rev. Sonya Sukalski’s tour of duty at UUFTC as our new part-time minister. She hails from Castro Valley in the East Bay where she moved with her family in 2003 to attend seminary at Starr King School for the Ministry. Sonya, a native of New Mexico, finds inspiration in nature, the elements and the outdoors, and also enjoys yoga, playing the piano, and cooking.

Her professional interests range from cognition and linguistics to a fascination with the interaction between one’s well-being and health with one’s spirituality and world. These worlds overlapped, blended and interacted during her recently completed six-week, 400+ mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail.

In Dec. 2016, the congregation voted to have Rev. Sonya as our called minister!

Rev. Craig Scott, Minister Emeritus

Rev. Scott graduated from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley in 2004 and was also admitted into Preliminary Fellowship as a UU minister that same year. Rev. Scott advanced to Final Fellowship as a UU minister, akin to becoming a tenured college professor, marking the successful completion of a seven-year process.

Rev. Scott served as minister for UUFTC from 2005 until he retired in 2011. He returned as part-time minister for 2013 to assist in the search for the next minister. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Tuolumne County awarded Rev. Scott the title of Minister Emeritus in 2011.
